Informatica and Microsoft reveal new innovations at Ignite 2025, integrating AI systems with trusted data management to enable secure, compliant, and faster enterprise AI deployments.
Informatica and Microsoft have announced a series of strategic innovations aimed at accelerating the adoption of enterprise-grade generative AI (GenAI) solutions built on trusted data. Unveiled during the Microsoft Ignite 2025 conference, these developments emphasize the integration of Informatica’s Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC) platform with Microsoft’s Foundry, an advanced agentic AI system. The collaboration is designed to enable organisations across sectors to build, deploy, and manage AI agents efficiently, while ensuring strong governance, trust, and regulatory compliance.
A key feature of this integration is the Informatica MCP Server for Foundry Agent Service, which allows AI agents developed in Foundry to connect securely and almost in real time with Informatica’s data governance and quality services. Using the industry-standard Model Context Protocol (MCP), these AI agents can tap into reliable, high-quality data managed within IDMC, facilitating more accurate and compliant AI-driven decision-making. This capability is pivotal as enterprises seek to scale AI deployments without compromising on data integrity or compliance requirements.
Aside from connectivity, Informatica introduced a new agentic blueprint and a library of pre-built GenAI “recipes” tailored for Foundry. These recipes include solutions for diverse industry needs, such as simplified React agents and multifunctional agents designed for sectors like finance and insurance, handling tasks such as loan processing and auto insurance claims. These pre-configured templates help companies fast-track the design, connection, orchestration, and deployment of robust AI applications, grounded in trusted data foundations provided by Informatica.
Further strengthening this ecosystem, the CLAIRE AI engine from Informatica has been expanded to integrate Foundry’s capabilities, delivering advanced reasoning for services including data integration, data quality, governance, and master data management. CLAIRE is now natively available in Microsoft Azure regions across the US and Europe, which supports compliance by enabling data processing closer to where the data resides, addressing key data sovereignty and regulatory concerns.
Informatica also highlighted enhanced interoperability features with Microsoft OneLake. Support for reading and writing tables in the Apache Iceberg format within OneLake allows customers to unify, secure, and access their data more seamlessly across platforms. This open data ecosystem approach underscores both companies’ commitment to providing flexible, integrated data management suited for the evolving AI landscape.
These announcements build on a series of prior integrations and innovations between Informatica and Microsoft. Earlier in 2025, Informatica had introduced data quality applications native to Microsoft Fabric and CLAIRE Copilot functionalities enhanced by Azure OpenAI Service. These aimed to help developers automate complex data integration workflows and accelerate time to value. In the preceding years, Informatica progressively deepened its partnership with Microsoft by becoming an Azure Native ISV Service, enabling smoother deployment of IDMC in Azure environments and streamlining user experiences through the Azure Management Console.
Together, these strategic moves signal a strong drive to position trusted data management at the heart of enterprise AI transformation. Informatica and Microsoft aim to empower a broad customer base, over 1,000 joint clients across industries, with AI solutions that not only deliver on advanced capabilities but also uphold the essential standards of trust, governance, and compliance required in today’s data-driven business environment.
