At the Catalyst1 summit, Cohesity introduced groundbreaking solutions incorporating AI, cloud integration, and on-premises security to enhance cyber resilience and data protection for enterprises and governments amid escalating cyber threats.
Cohesity Japan Corporation has unveiled a series of groundbreaking innovations aimed at strengthening cyber resilience, data protection, and recovery capabilities. Announced at the company’s “Catalyst1 – Virtual Data Security Summit,” these advancements support Cohesity’s proactive “5-Step Cyber Resilience Framework,” designed to help enterprises and government agencies safeguard their operations amid increasingly sophisticated cyber threats.
Central to the new initiatives is an unparalleled protection for computing environments spanning across the three dominant hyperscale cloud providers—Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud. Cohesity is set to expand its extensive connector library, adding 40 more connectors by the end of 2025 to cover popular computing, container, storage, and database services. Furthermore, the introduction of “Cohesity Identity Resilience,” developed in collaboration with Semperis, targets the fortification of Microsoft Active Directory, a critical and frequently targeted component in cyberattacks, by combining Cohesity’s immutable Data Cloud infrastructure with Semperis’s automated recovery and advanced identity protection tools.
In response to growing data sovereignty concerns, Cohesity has launched an on-premises version of its cloud-based Cyber Vault solution, FortKnox, presenting a self-managed, isolated, and highly secure air-gapped data vault within customers’ own data centres. This solution ensures that even if credentials are compromised, the vault’s location remains concealed, enhancing data security in line with regulatory demands. Adding to the performance improvements, a soon-to-be-released innovation called NetBackup DirectIO will allow customers to leverage the Cohesity Data Cloud as an immutable, high-performance storage layer for all NetBackup data sources, promising up to 53% cost savings and enhanced recovery speeds.
Recognising the importance of proactive threat detection, Cohesity has enhanced its threat scanning technology for backup data with high-speed hash-based analysis, integrating Google Threat Intelligence into its Data Cloud platform. This enables real-time detection of Indicators of Compromise (IoCs) and enhances customers’ ability to swiftly respond to intrusions.
To ensure verifiable and confident recovery practices, Cohesity offers tools such as the RecoveryAgent, an orchestration solution incorporating malware scanning and Agentic AI capabilities for automating and fine-tuning disaster recovery rehearsals and processes. Complementary to these advancements, Cohesity has also expanded its Cyber Event Response Team (CERT) services through partnerships with incident response specialists including Palo Alto Networks Unit 42 and Semperis. This collaboration blends comprehensive data insights with experienced threat containment, accelerating investigation and recovery timelines.
Another critical dimension of the framework addresses data risk posture. Through a strategic integration with AI-native data security provider Cyera, Cohesity enhances data classification and governance directly within the Data Cloud platform. This integration helps organisations identify sensitive and regulated data within their backups, apply near real-time compliance policies, and eliminate redundant or stale data, thus reducing recovery risks and aiding regulatory adherence.
Industry voices underscore the importance of these developments. Amit Raikar, Cyera’s Vice President of Strategic Alliances, highlighted the complexities introduced by cloud and AI-driven data sprawl, which elevate security and compliance risks. He emphasised that Cohesity’s integration simplifies data management and ensures data is restored securely and compliantly, effectively bridging cyber resilience gaps. Similarly, Dante Orsini, Chief Revenue Officer at 11:11 Systems, praised the robust partnership focused on delivering integrated AI-enhanced data management and cyber resilience solutions that address gaps from protection through optimisation.
Cohesity Gaia, the company’s AI-powered enterprise knowledge discovery assistant, benefits significantly from these innovations as well. Now equipped with advanced AI capabilities, a revamped search interface, support for multiple languages, and integrations with platforms like Slack and Google Agentspace, Gaia enables secure, global, and efficient access to actionable insights derived from protected data, promoting operational efficiency, innovation, and business growth.
These announcements follow Cohesity’s expanded partnership with Google Cloud earlier in 2025, aimed at enhancing cyber resilience through AI-driven threat detection and swift incident response, and its showcasing of AI-powered cyber resilience solutions in collaboration with HPE at HPE Discover Las Vegas 2025. The Catalyst1 summit brought together industry leaders such as Capstone Research, The Weather Channel, NVIDIA, Mandiant from Google Cloud, and Palo Alto Networks Unit 42 to share proven strategies and reinforce the importance of comprehensive data security.
Vasu Murthy, Cohesity’s Vice President and Chief Product Officer, reflected on the evolving threat landscape by stating, “Cyberattacks are an unavoidable reality, and organisations cannot afford to be unprepared. Prevention alone is insufficient. We focus on enabling our customers to build resilience, recover swiftly, maintain business continuity, and protect their reputation. Our latest capabilities ensure confidence in data protection, validated recovery processes, and continuously optimised risk postures.”
Similarly, Satoshi Kanemitsu, President of Cohesity Japan, affirmed the critical importance of resilient recovery amid escalating cyber threats in Japan, reiterating the company’s commitment to supporting sustainable business growth through AI-powered, comprehensive data protection and management solutions.
