OutSystems has announced the global availability of its Agent Workbench platform, designed to simplify AI agent creation and deployment across organisations, enhancing operational efficiency, security, and scalability amid rising demand for intelligent automation.
OutSystems has announced the general availability of its Agent Workbench platform, a significant development aimed at empowering enterprises to unlock the transformative potential of AI-driven agentic systems. The platform simplifies the creation and orchestration of intelligent AI agents across diverse use cases, departments, data sets, and workflows, streamlining complex operations and accelerating digital transformation initiatives.
The announcement was made during the OutSystems 2025 ONE Conference, the company’s flagship event that gathers IT leaders, developers, and partners globally. OutSystems CEO Woodson Martin underscored the platform’s capacity to unify enterprise data, workflows, customer and employee experiences, and intelligent agents into a single, trusted framework with enterprise-grade security and governance. He described agentic AI as a critical lever for innovation and operational efficiency in the modern business landscape, with the potential to drive revenue growth and enhance customer satisfaction.
Agent Workbench builds on a successful Early Access Program that included participants such as Axos Bank, Thermo Fisher Scientific, The Arch Company, Grihum Housing Finance, and TeamWork. These organisations have leveraged the platform to achieve notable improvements in operational efficiency, automation, and service delivery. For example, Axos Bank developed intelligent agents to automate error log analysis and document data entry, significantly reducing manual workloads and accelerating problem resolution. Thermo Fisher Scientific created a Customer Escalation Agent that parses unstructured customer data to expedite support issue triaging. The Arch Company replaced spreadsheet-based processes with AI-driven customer enquiry routing, enhancing response times and customer engagement. Similarly, TeamWork implemented agents to automate low-value ticket resolutions and provide real-time guidance for complex case handling, improving both client and employee experiences. In India, Grihum Housing Finance utilised the platform to enhance loan underwriting accuracy and streamline property evaluations by deploying specialised agents to handle region-specific data complexities.
Beyond these case studies, the generally available version of Agent Workbench introduces advanced features such as an agent marketplace and support for the Model Context Protocol (MCP). These innovations empower agents with direct interoperability with enterprise systems, external tools, and services, facilitating more seamless automation. The platform supports a wide array of AI models, including established providers like AWS Bedrock, Azure OpenAI, and Anthropic, as well as newer large language models such as Gemini, Cohere, Mistral, Databricks, AI2, and IBM’s WatsonX. It also accommodates custom models built on platforms like VertexAI and open-source models available through HuggingFace.
OutSystems’ low-code approach allows IT teams to integrate agentic AI into existing enterprise-wide operations with minimal disruption, avoiding the need for extensive system rearchitecture. The platform includes real-time monitoring features, such as logging and error tracing, with built-in compliance guardrails that ensure transparency and reliability in AI-driven decision-making. Hélio Pimenta, Associate Partner at KPMG’s Low-Code Center of Excellence, highlighted how Agent Workbench meets organisational demands for speed-to-value combined with robust governance, enabling autonomous AI agents while maintaining comprehensive control.
The introduction of Agent Workbench aligns with OutSystems’ broader AI strategy, which also includes AI Agent Builder, a solution for integrating generative AI applications into enterprise digital transformation initiatives while ensuring security and governance. Together, these tools aim to accelerate the adoption of AI across the enterprise landscape.
Agent Workbench is available via OutSystems’ Developer Cloud and Personal Edition platforms, priced at €20,000, though it is offered free for deployments launched before the end of 2025, encouraging rapid enterprise adoption.
This launch arrives at a critical juncture, as industry data reveals that 93% of organisations prioritise AI agent development but face significant challenges related to governance, security, integration, and scalability. OutSystems Agent Workbench seeks to address these barriers by delivering a comprehensive, unified platform that supports the growing demand for intelligent, automated, and resilient enterprise systems.
