Apple’s long‑rumoured foldable iPhone is now said to be fitted with a battery that would outstrip every other iPhone to date, with recent industry reports suggesting capacity could exceed 5,500 mAh and testing has seen cells in the 5,400–5,800 mAh range.
If those figures hold, the handset would surpass the 5,088 mAh pack in the iPhone 17 Pro Max and would also exceed the batteries used in rival folding flagships such as the Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7. Analysts say a larger cell is intended to deliver markedly longer real‑world endurance for a device with two large displays.
Reports emphasise that Apple is not relying on capacity alone; the company is reportedly pursuing higher energy density cells and design changes to slim essential components in order to improve efficiency and preserve battery life without making the device unduly thick.
