Swisscard AECS GmbH extends its partnership with FICO, leveraging AI-powered decision optimisation to increase credit limits, improve customer satisfaction, and strengthen its competitive position in Switzerland’s banking sector.
Swisscard AECS GmbH, known as a leading premium credit card provider in Switzerland, has announced the extension of its collaboration with FICO to optimise its credit limit strategies for new and existing customers. According to the company, this move leverages the AI-powered decision optimisation capabilities of the FICO® Platform to increase credit limits while adhering to its risk appetite. The initiative is said to not only enhance flexibility in managing spending limits reflecting customer behaviour but also aims to boost customer satisfaction and loyalty, potentially consolidating Swisscard’s competitive standing in the market.
The firm’s head of Risk Models, Nadia Benitez, described the expanded partnership as a natural progression following a successful five-year collaboration where Swisscard utilised the FICO Platform to improve credit originations continuously. Benitez emphasised that the platform enables the firm to define elements of decision strategies only once and apply them across different operational areas, enhancing consistency and agility by eliminating the need for IT support when deploying new strategies.
FICO’s platform is built on decades of analytic science and innovation, with optimization capabilities natively integrated to deliver scalable results to millions of customers worldwide. Jens Dauner, FICO’s vice president for the DACH region, suggested that the implementation is expected to drive higher revenues, improve credit card uptake, and facilitate greater usage among the most suitable customer profiles.
While Swisscard’s announcement highlights the benefits of AI-driven optimisation in credit management, it fits into a broader trend where financial institutions seek advanced decision management systems to balance customer experience with risk control. FICO’s platform serves various sectors, including fraud detection and debt collections, demonstrating the versatility of such AI-powered tools in addressing multiple operational challenges in financial services. However, as with all AI-based credit decision tools, the effectiveness and fairness of these optimisations depend heavily on the data quality and the models’ design, a concern noted in ongoing discussions about AI in financial services risk management.
